  • The hotel industry is seeing a major shift in visitor trends across the nation’s most popular downtown cores. We analyzed data from Miami, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles to uncover what’s driving hotel visits in these major cities. Here’s what we found: 📍 Miami & Chicago Lead the Growth: Miami saw an 8.9% YoY increase, and Chicago followed closely at 7.4%. Both cities attracted more long-distance visitors than NYC or LA. 📍 Summer Festivals in Chicago: Lollapalooza and other events fueled a 51.1%-63.8% increase in downtown hotel visits last August. 📍 NYC’s Holiday Surge: Manhattan hotels saw more suburban and rural visitors in December than at any other time of year. 📍 LA's Summer Family Appeal: Downtown LA saw a boost in affluent, middle-aged families in July, taking advantage of cultural attractions.
