Indoor vertical farmers on a mission to bring the freshest, cleanest, most craveable produce to people everywhere.
About us
Plenty is a new kind of farm for a new kind of world. We’re on a mission to bring healthy food to the world while protecting the environment. Our pesticide-free, non-GMO leafy greens taste fresh-picked from the garden because they were. We grow and deliver locally, cutting transportation miles and reducing emissions. Plenty’s indoor farms mean fresh produce is always in season. We are a team of growers, plant scientists, engineers, artists, foodies and plant romantics working to improve the lives of plants, people, and the planet. We currently operate in South San Francisco, CA, and Laramie, WY. Our new Compton, CA site set to open in 2021 will be the world’s first, high-capacity indoor vertical farm. Plenty believes food justice is social justice. Equal access to healthy, nutritious food is fundamental to a quality life. We build farms in communities that need better access to food and jobs. Plenty provides living-wage, year-round jobs along with flavorful, nutrient-rich food to the communities we serve. We use automation and robotics so machines do the backbreaking labor while people perform new kinds of skilled agricultural, science and high-tech jobs. Now is the time to help Plenty achieve its mission to feed the world healthy food in a sustainable way. We are a start-up with expanding career growth opportunities. We are actively seeking those who embody our core values: find a way, down to earth, & grow together. These values guide how we work together as teammates, approach innovation and engage with customers. Does this sound like you? Join the mission as we improve human and planetary health by increasing access to craveable fruits and vegetables.

🍓 Today, Plenty® opened the doors to the world's first farm to grow indoor, vertically farmed berries at scale. The Plenty Richmond Farm is designed to produce more than 4 million pounds of strawberries annually in less than 40,000 square feet by growing vertically on 30-foot-tall towers. The farm will exclusively grow Driscoll's strawberries, combining Plenty’s advanced technology with global premium berry leader Driscoll’s advanced genetics. “Plenty’s farm will boost local agriculture production and drive economic development, all while diversifying against risks and protecting the environment. We look forward to supporting their innovative approaches to revolutionizing the industry, and know that Plenty’s success will be Virginia’s success,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. After receiving the largest economic development grant ever given by the State of Wyoming, Plenty is expanding its R&D footprint and building the world’s largest vertical farming research center in Laramie with the support of the Wyoming Business Council, Laramie Chamber Business Alliance and City of Laramie. Following the selection of MOA ARCHITECTURE as the project’s A&E firm, the design for the research center is now complete. Plenty will break ground next spring and is targeting summer 2026 for the opening of the new facility. “What we’re building in Wyoming is truly unlike anything else in the world – you’d have to go to Wageningen in the Netherlands to come close." said Arama Kukutai, CEO of Plenty. "We see a significant opportunity to leverage this new platform for R&D and indoor growing to build a global network of research centers to increase our impact on the future of both plant science and indoor farming.” Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/ggGANMd3

Today, we announced a multi-year, region-wide partnership to bring locally grown fresh produce to countries across the Gulf Cooperation Council. In a joint venture with Mawarid Holding Investment we plan to develop a network of up to five indoor vertical farms in the GCC in the next five years, with our first farm set to grow peak-season flavor strawberries in Abu Dhabi. In the UAE, 80% of the land is desert and only 0.7% of the land is arable. Developing local food production is essential to creating a more sustainable and secure food system that gives communities access to fresher, more nutritious food.
