Through partnerships with colleges and universities, such as Elmhurst University , the PMMI Foundation is able to introduce students to the packaging and processing industry and connect them with industry leaders. "We are thrilled that this great new partnership between Elmhurst University and PMMI will equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the increasingly automated packaging and processing industry through robotics education and training, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment, and exclusive access to members and PACK EXPO. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with local PMMI companies and explore the latest industry innovations, as well as gain firsthand insights into the dynamic world of packaging and processing. Additionally, Elmhurst University will apply multiple majors such as business, computer science, and STEM to the relationship, providing students with a well-rounded education that can be applied to various future career role opportunities within the PMMI membership community. Internships, networking, and job shadowing opportunities in the Chicago area with PMMI will further enhance students' practical experience and help them build valuable professional networks." It was my pleasure to accompany BluePrint Automation (BPA) and the #LCBirdRobohawks and FIRST student meeting at BPA today. What a thrill to see the excitement in the eyes of these talented young students. That enthusiasm spilled over into the #BPA employees too. So many people to thank for this event, the Blueprint Team was absolutely amazing and the LC Bird staff and students are just world class. A few pictures below of the event and even Andre Boom COO of Blueprint automation trying his hand at running the robot, great job Andre! And special shout out to Tom Gregory and Robbie Quinlin for all the time you spent to make this the success it was. One more major shout out, PMMI: The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies and PMMI Foundation for the matching sponsor funds. The excitement is real!
