This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we are proud to highlight the success of the Calvin McGhee Cultural Department’s Creek Language Program. Established to preserve the endangered Mvskoke language, this initiative plays a crucial role in keeping our heritage alive and strengthening cultural identity. From teaching students at the Fred L. McGhee Early Learning Center to offering community classes and working with Tribal elders, the program has made significant strides in language preservation. Recently, our 4K students earned top honors at the Oklahoma Native American Youth Language Fair, proving the power of their dedication.
