Polaris MEP is a statewide non profit organization that provides competitive manufacturing business improvement programs to grow RI’s manufacturing industry. We help small and medium size manufacturers in Rhode Island with their topline, bottom line and pipeline. Polaris MEP is an affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Program (MEPNN) and a business unit of the University of Rhode Island Research Foundation. Since 1996 Polaris MEP has delivered improvement solutions to over 750 Rhode Island manufacturers to help them achieve sustainable and profitable growth. Polaris MEP provides customized consulting, proven solutions, public workshops and in-house training.

The Technologist Program is a newly developed curriculum from MIT aimed at bridging the gap between a Technician and an Engineer, creating a new category – "The Technologist." Polaris MEP's workforce team is looking for people who are either current workers or current community college students to review and pilot test the curriculum.
