Thank you for the great discussion. We hope to build on these relationships to increase safety for health-care workers.
Last week, we continued our series of fireside chats with county attorneys and law enforcement about the importance of reporting incidents of violence in #hospitals. I had the pleasure of teaming-up the Polk County Attorney's Office, Des Moines Police Department, and Buena Vista County Attorney Paul Allen to hold discussions with Iowa Hospital Association members in Des Moines and in Pocahontas at UnityPoint Health affiliate Pocahontas Community Hospital (PCH). Thank you so much to all the IHA members who attended for their continued engagement on this topic, and of course, our public servants for keeping our hospitals safe and offering their time to discuss the importance of reporting violence to law enforcement, how cases are prosecuted, and the important role our hospital teams play in ensuring that bad actors are held accountable. Thank you to Paul, Polk County Attorney Kimberly Graham and her colleague Bret Lucas, and Meg Norberg and Sgt. Jason Hays of the Des Moines Police Department for their collaboration, and to PCH for being such great hosts in Pocahontas.
