On Nov. 14, John Summit will do what he usually does before he DJs: Up until 10 minutes before showtime, he’ll lock in and go over his set. He’ll take two shots of tequila for nerves and then make his way to his gear. He laughs and describes the performance as the easy part, the work going into each show takes up most of his time as he tweaks each record until it’s perfect, changing up songs to give fans something that’s a bit different. But this show, more than others, is bigger. Montreux Jazz Festival Miami is set to return for its second edition Feb. 28 through March 2 with Jon Batiste & Friends headlining the first night. The multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire is a co-owner of the festival and curated this year’s lineup.   “Bringing the soul of Montreux to the heart of Miami is an honor. It’s a rare festival where the room is intimate and musical collaboration and improvisation are central to the experience. Kelsea Ballerini’s career will hit a new level Oct. 29 when she plays a sold-out record release party at New York City’s Madison Square Garden for her new album, Patterns (out today [Oct. 25] on Black River Ent.). Between her performance and album release, she’s taking over New York City with multiple television appearances, including “Today,” “Sunday Today with Willie Geist,” “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Oct. 29 is turning into a de facto – if not official – Kelsea Ballerini Day in NYC.   “It’s been a very slow, steady build for 10 years,” Ballerina tells Pollstar. “And I truly didn’t skip any steps. I opened in clubs and then theaters and then amphitheaters and then arenas. And then I went back and I headlined every single one of those. This is the stuff that I’ve always been really protective of, wanting to do it at the right time, but always really eager to do it and hoping that one day I could. Hip-hop star Tyler, The Creator has announced a multi-continent arena concert tour kicking off in February that includes North America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. The tour, which includes Lil Yachty as direct support and opening support from Paris Texas, is in support of Tyler’s forthcoming CHROMAKOPIA album, which releases Monday, Oct. 28. Tickets for the tour, which is promoted by AEG Presents, go on sale Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. local time in each market. The trek features seven dates, the pair wrapping up in Long Beach, California, on Nov. 24. Co-op Live, the Oak View Group (OVG)-owned and operated arena in Manchester, has announced the addition of two seasoned leaders, Scott Feldman and Jon Hornby, to its senior leadership team. These appointments mark the first major leadership hires under the guidance of Guy Dunstan, the newly appointed General Manager and Senior Vice President of Co-op Live.   Feldman joins the team as Assistant General Manager & Operations Director, bringing a wealth of expertise from his time with OVG at Acrisure Arena. His operational knowledge is expected to play a pivotal role in elevating the day-to-day performance of the venue. In the summer of 1976, there was not a bigger artist on the planet than British singer/songwriter/guitarist Peter Frampton. A seasoned musician in his teens, Frampton had been grinding away in various bands for more than a decade by that point.
