Political Psychology Network

Higher Education

Fostering exchange between political psychology scholars from various disciplines.

About us

Our goal: The goal of this network is to contribute to an emerging regional network in political psychology, to foster exchange, inspire collaboration and to facilitate dialogue between scholars from different disciplines who conduct research in the realm of political psychology. We aim at bringing together the scientific community working in the field of political psychology in Germany and establishing connections to the international political psychology community. The origin: The interest in the psychology of political behavior and processes appears in various disciplines, such as political science, psychology and sociology. However, despite a growing number of scholars working in the field there is little exchange between researchers of different disciplines. In order to tackle this issue, we established the German Political Psychology Network. Join our network by following this page and attending upcoming events!

The German Political Psychology Network is currently seeking hosts for its sixth "24hours of Political Psychology" meeting scheduled for 2025! In January 2020, the first meeting of the German Political Psychology Network took place at the FernUniversität in Hagen, and we have since held four additional meetings. The fifth meeting will take place in Vienna later this year (please register until March 31). These annual meetings bring together an interdisciplinary group of researchers with a common interest in political psychology. They aim to foster the exchange of ideas in an inclusive environment. Contributions from all stages of research are welcome (including pre-registrations plans and work-in-progress). The network is now looking for new local organizers for its sixth meeting in 2025. While the local organizing team will bear the main responsibilities for the event, our network’s organizing team will offer their support. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact us. You can do this by contacting a member of the organizing team directly by email or by sending us a direct message on social media (X, Bluesky, LinkedIn). We look forward to hearing from you! Best wishes, The Organizing Team of the German Political Psychology Network (Rowenia Bender, Nils Brandenstein, Sarah Buhl, Vinzenz Hübl, Lena Masch, Julia Reiter, Cornelia Sindermann, Klara Steinmetz and Laura Stritzke)
