Since 1988, the Foundation has inspired thousands of children to become “Stewards of Wildlife” by offering conservation education tools and programs to children, their families, and educators. The Foundation’s three programs—Discover Africa, Junior Keepers, and Safari West LIVE—all serve a unique purpose to empower children to take meaningful steps towards protecting our planet’s wildlife and fostering a healthier Earth for future generations. We had the opportunity to experience the magic for ourselves with a guided tour of the wildlife including giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, cheetahs, flamingos, and more. Meet the newest members of the Poppy Bank team—Charlie Brown and Snoopy! You may have seen similar statues throughout Sonoma County. Did you know beloved Peanuts cartoonist, Charles Schulz, lived in Santa Rosa where Poppy Bank is headquartered? His legacy is a big part of Sonoma County’s cultural heritage and when you visit, you will see many Snoopy and Charlie statues throughout town. The Poppy Bank marketing team was honored to work with the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center and local artist, Kristina Lucas-Hayden, who made Poppy Bank’s creative vision come to life. Lucas-Hayden served as the Museum’s Volunteer Director for more than 17 years, where she developed a broad knowledge of Schulz’s creative style and artistic legacy. The Poppy Bank-branded Peanuts statues feature intricate details such as hand-sculpted poppies, vibrant pops of orange, and base imagery that preserve the authenticity of Schulz’s original stylistic approach.
