At Porsche AG, our commitment to pioneering innovation drives us to explore the potential of this cutting-edge sector, identifying key areas that align with our strategic goals. In this project, bright minds from the HHL MBA class conducted a comprehensive overview of various subfields within quantum technologies to assess their strategic and financial viability for Porsche and Porsche Ventures. Their analysis has shed light on several exciting focus areas, including: 🔍 Quantum Computing: Revolutionizing computational capabilities with unparalleled speed and efficiency. 🔍 Quantum Sensing: Offering unprecedented precision and new functionalities in vehicle systems. 🔍 Quantum Communication: Enhancing secure data transmission for autonomous and connected vehicles. 🔍 Quantum Simulations: Facilitating advanced simulations for material science and engineering applications. We are thrilled to lead Black Semiconductor’s €254.4 million Series A financing round, making it one of the largest ever for a European chip company 🤖 We are excited to lead this financing round together with Project A, joined by Capnamic, Scania Group (Growth Capital), NRW.BANK and existing investors Vsquared Ventures, Cambium Capital and Hermann Hauser's Onsight Ventures. Complemented with huge public funding through the IPCEI ME/CT program, we are jointly striving to establish chip capabilities within Europe to decrease dependencies and strive for more resilient supply chains. Black Semi leverages graphene to build chips that are a magnitude faster and more energy efficient. The team is now well positioned to enable the first semiconductor mass production based on the novel material graphene — an important step towards developing the semiconductor value chain in Europe. We are proud to co-lead the €55 million Series A of cylib – making it the largest round ever raised by a European battery recycling company. 🔋♻️   This landmark funding round was co-led by World Fund, joined by Bosch Ventures, DTCF | DeepTech & Climate Fonds, NRW.Venture and existing investors Vsquared Ventures, Speedinvest and 10x Founders. The capital injection will enable cylib to switch gears and pave the way to industrialization. 🛠️   cylib is commercializing nearly a decade of research from RWTH Aachen University. In less than 24 months, cylib managed to build up a full-fledged pilot-line, grew to a team of over 60 people while launching numerous projects with leading automotive OEMs and battery manufacturers.   We are excited to partner with the cylib team to industrialize their innovative end-to-end recycling process with the aim to drive the European Raw Material Ecosystem to become more sustainable and resilient.
