EXCITING NEWS: We're advancing our plans for a new Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport! “With the EWR Vision Plan in place, we are wasting no time getting the ball rolling on the planning for a new world-class Terminal B,” said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole. The current Terminal B, which opened in 1973, has struggled to meet evolving passenger and industry needs. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey's Board has approved $55 million to advance the design of the new terminal, which is the first major step in our comprehensive plan to reimagine Newark Liberty. “This funding will allow us to develop a roadmap to deliver a new Terminal B to match the award-winning Terminal A. The robust accolades received at Newark and LaGuardia – along with the major construction happening across JFK’s footprint – demonstrates that the Port Authority is more than capable of delivering best-in-class airport facilities," said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. October 29 holds special significance for the Holland Tunnel. On this day 100 years ago, New York and New Jersey construction teams met under the Hudson River, marking a groundbreaking moment in infrastructure. Eighty-eight years later, the same day brought Superstorm Sandy and severe flooding. Now, the Port Authority is transforming this disaster into an opportunity, overhauling key tunnel components to secure its future. “The kind of work we’re doing, you can’t really do with traffic zooming past you. Safety needs to come first for our workers and the traveling public.” – General Manager Enrique Ramirez, Holland Tunnel Discover how the Holland Tunnel is being renewed for the next century: https://ow.ly/5E8A50TRTMm

It’s a sign of the times: A modest building on the outskirts of Port Newark is now front and center for the Port Authority, the staff within churning out signs across the agency’s vast network of airports, roadways, and shipping terminals. The work is especially critical these days as the agency enters major construction on a number of capital projects across the region, such as the $19 billion redevelopment of a new world-class John F. Kennedy International Airport, a brand new roadway network for the airport, and a major roadway safety and access improvement project at Port Newark. STOP what you’re doing, YIELD to your curiosity, and take the ONE-WAY street into the inner workings of the Port Authority’s own sign shop:

As we celebrate the final day of Hispanic Heritage Month, we spotlight the inspiring journey of Priscilla Sanchez, the Port Authority Police Department's (PAPD) first female captain of Hispanic heritage. Her story began when, as a 10-year-old, her older brother gifted her a stuffed puppy before his deployment to Iraq. That small gesture of love would stay with her through the decades as she pursued a career in law enforcement, culminating in a trailblazing role within the PAPD. Years later, Sanchez’s sons hugged that same puppy as she rose to captain. Sanchez’s journey is a testament to the power of family, tradition, and pride in heritage. Her leadership within the PAPD highlights the important contributions of Hispanic Americans in public service.
