Watch as this morning’s stunning sunrise over Palm Beach sets the stage for a bustling day at Port of Palm Beach! Our time lapse camera captured two cargo ships safely navigating into the Lake Worth Inlet and docking smoothly at the port. Thank you to Tropical Shipping’s ship captains and Palm Beach Harbor Pilots for keeping the crew and boaters safe!
About us
Established in 1915, the Port of Palm Beach District is a Special Taxing District, operating as a Sub-Division of the State of Florida. The taxing authority has not levied ad valorem taxes on district properties since 1975, operating solely off revenues generated through its operations. The Port of Palm Beach is a full-service, diversified port, offering cruise and cargo services to more than 30 onsite tenants and users. At 162 acres, the Port’s efficiency is unparalleled, processing more than $7 billion in commodities, 2.5 million tons of cargo, and 500,000 cruise passengers annually. The Port of Palm Beach ranks as the fourth busiest of Florida’s 14 deepwater ports and 20th in the nation. More than 2,850 people are employed by the Port of Palm Beach and its tenants, making it one of the largest employers in Palm Beach County. And through the contribution of more than $185 million in business revenue and $17.5 million in tenant-contributed state and local annual tax revenue, it is one of the largest economic engines in South Florida.

In a move that underscores their commitment to the community, Port of Palm Beach Commissioners voted unanimously NOT to levy taxes for the 49th consecutive year. This decision means that residents living within the special-taxing district will continue to benefit from a port tax-free environment, providing significant financial relief to local taxpayers. Since 1975, the Port has managed to maintain operational efficiency and generate revenue through business activities at the Port rather than through taxation. “This proactive approach not only fosters economic growth, but also enhances the quality of life for those who call the district home,” said Chairman Wayne Richards.

🎉 Celebrating Our Interns on Their Last Day! 🎉 Today marks the final Port Activity Day of the summer for our incredible interns. They had the opportunity to visit CEMEX, where Terminal Manager Matt Horne and Regional Logistics Manager Greg Jeffries, provided the group insight on the company’s operations and the intern opportunities at CEMEX. They even treated the interns to a cookout and Italian ice from Sunset Slush Jupiter. We were also delighted to welcome back four of our former interns, who shared their inspiring stories about how their experience at the port has helped them build confidence, develop organizational skills and secure internships and jobs. A huge thank you to all of your tenants who made this summer memorable. 🌟We’re proud of our interns and excited to see what they accomplish next!
