How did Govly migrate from GCP to AWS in a day? Normally, to migrate across cloud providers, you'd have to: - Containerize your apps for portability - Write IaC like Terraform to provision infra resources, handle integration, and balance load - Set up a K8s cluster (allowing you to launch, operate, monitor, shut down, and restart containers and nodes) - Install components that handle operations like networking, monitoring, logging, and certificate management in the cluster to be prod-ready - Write helm charts to package and configure applications on K8s Instead of this months-long process, all Govly had to do on Porter was choose AWS as their new cloud provider, provision a new cluster, and deploy their apps.

How did HomeLight migrate from Heroku to AWS and retain an excellent developer experience (and see cost savings)? They had been on Heroku for over a decade and ran into serious limitations on the PaaS. Migrating to AWS was the best path forward, but they weren't sure how they'd retain Heroku’s ease of deployment. Using Porter, they still have the developer experience of a PaaS but on more cost-effective, scalable, flexible, secure, and reliable AWS infra. How is Porter a DevOps engineer's best friend? Other than helping early and growth-stage startups not worry about infrastructure management at all, Porter's users include public companies like Getaround with teams of highly experienced SREs. For these teams, Porter handles the undifferentiated infra heavy lifting, including: - Zero-downtime K8s version upgrades - CVE patch management - Automated component upgrades - Automated CI/CD and deployment strategies - FinOps, including resource rightsizing - Ephemeral environments to test changes before pushing to production - MLOps - One-click infra configuration for SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance All of which allows DevOps engineers to focus on the infra work that's most important to them and their organization.
