At the end of each week, over 1300 elementary school kids go home with enough food to get them through the weekend days when food scarcity is highest. Portland Backpack partners with 15 local Title 1 schools so kids can focus on learning, growing, and thriving without the effects of hunger. It takes just $25 to provide a child with 1 month of weekend meals.
