A few highlights: ▪️The PCA Fall Economic Forecast: The Federal Reserve’s recent move to lower interest rates, coupled with easing inflation, signals a significant retreat in interest rate levels by the end of next year -- all to benefit construction activity. ▪️Blended cements: Roundtable discussions with representatives from all segments of the value chain shed light on challenges and opportunities. “American cement manufacturers have the commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050," said PCA Chair Massimo Toso. "We appreciate the effort of Senator Cassidy and his colleagues to put in place a carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM)" which levels the playing field, ensuring fair competition by accounting for the carbon footprint of imported goods. PCA was proud to participate in Senator Bill Cassidy's Louisiana Energy Security Summit yesterday. Reliable, sustainable energy is vital to America's cement manufacturers, and PCA urges Congress to: > modernize federal laws and regulations to help manufacturers improve their plants; > improve permitting for energy generation & infrastructure; and > ensure federal regulations protect human health & the environment while facilitating economic growth.
