🥯 Our Nutrition Services team is trying new #schoolbreakfast foods this year! We are excited to be partnering with Spielman Bagels & Coffee and offer a new bagel stick. Why a stick? Many of our students are eating breakfast on the go or in classrooms, so we need it to be easy to eat. The bagel stick shape dips nicely into the cream cheese cup. Thank you to our students for all the great feedback on this new #local food. *Photos from Metro Learning Center and West Sylvan #farm2school #schoolmeals

People from across the community came out to the Grand Opening Celebration of the new hayu alqi uxyat building this weekend. The building hosts PPS's Multiple Pathways to Graduation alternative education programs. This new state of the art facility is now home to Alliance High School, DART/Kuumba School, Teen Parent Services and Childcare, and Reconnection Services and Center. The 85,000 SF multi-story building unites these programs in a central location providing comprehensive support to students as they work their way to graduation. hayu alqi uxyat is a Chinook word for Many Future Paths.

A Beaumont Middle School Math Teacher was just named one of Oregon's Regional Teachers of the Year!! The entire school surprised Bryan Butcher Jr. during a pretend "Welcome Back" Assembly. Mr. Butcher was presented with a $1,000 dollar check and cheers all around. He's now one of four finalists in the running to become Oregon's Teacher of the Year. Mr. Butcher has been teaching for 13 years. About half of that time has been at Beaumont. Congratulations and good luck!! https://lnkd.in/gc5iPXCt

Her students call her Ms. Mac and she goes above and beyond for the RCP community. Ms. Mac will represent Oregon at the National SHAPE conference in April.

🚌 For the first day of school, Superintendent Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong rode the bus to school so she could get the same experience as the students. ✏️ The Superintendent then toured Woodlawn Elementary to meet staff, students and parents. She even handed out pencils for their first writing assignment. https://lnkd.in/e2iEBRC5
