One of the many reasons our customers love partnering with us is our ability to help them master Section 321. And no, it's not just international or Chinese brands that can take advantage of this provision. In fact, our CEO Izzy Rosenzweig frequently discusses how American brands can benefit from De Minimis. So, how can you determine if Section 321 is right for your business? Here are a few indicators: 🔷 If you're already selling to U.S. customers As an e-commerce or DTC brand primarily shipping to the USA, you might be paying duty fees that could be avoided. Some of our customers have saved up to 15%-20% in tariffs and duties by leveraging Section 321. 🔷 If most of your customer orders are under $800 To benefit from De Minimis, the value of each item(s) must be $800 or less. As long as your customer orders fall within that threshold, you qualify to utilize Section 321. Keep in mind that some items are exempt from Section 321, such as products requiring inspection, those subject to Countervailing or Anti-Dumping Duty, items regulated by agencies like the FDA, and cigarettes or alcohol. 🔷 If you're looking to save money on taxes and duties Import taxes and duties for American brands can range from 5%-20%, and for apparel, they can go as high as 30%-40%. That’s a significant amount of money that could be reinvested into your business. De Minimis can effectively eliminate these extra costs, benefiting not only larger enterprises but also SMBs. 🔷 If you're looking for faster shipping and clearance into the U.S. Section 321 shipments require minimal customs paperwork, resulting in a much faster clearance process. As long as your goods comply with the rules and regulations, your packages will be approved quickly, ensuring they reach your customers faster. Interested in learning more? Your feedback loop is one of the best ways to gauge how your customers are enjoying your product and identify areas for improvement based on their insights. It can be tough to focus on the right feedback. However, a crucial part of being a business owner is knowing when to hone in on the right feedback and trust your instincts. Our CEO, Izzy Rosenzweig, recently sat down with Taylor Borenstein and Millie Blumka, founders of Stakt. They discussed how they launched their mat, optimized it based on customer feedback, and maintained supply simultaneously. They also shared their journey of starting Stakt, how it came to be, and what the future holds for the brand. Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gMUxNBAA

Our shipping method is ideal for brands that handle many presales. Take, for example, our customer SPACEPANDA. SPACEPANDA is a creative group dedicated to building, growing, and supporting creatives in achieving their dreams. They handle the operational aspects, allowing artists to enjoy the benefits of having a brand without the headaches of running one. Most of their artists work on presales. They came to us with a challenge that a lot of DTC/ecom brands deal with: long lead times. Manufacturing in China 👉 shipping inventory to Canada 👉 transporting to Toronto = 60+ days to get their inventory. They required a better solution that would shorten their lead times, and aid in global expansion. We stepped in and shortened lead times by 10x just by utilizing JIT inventory method. Since SPACEPANDA were already taking presales, the flexibility of JIT inventory allowed them to produce inventory based on actual demand rather than projections. With our help, SPACEPANDA turned presales into instant sales. Read more about how we not only reduced SPACEPANDA’s lead times, but aided in international expansion here: https://lnkd.in/g9ycCn2P

Freight costs and duty are expenses that need to be added to your item costs. On average, the cost of your product is typically less than 50% of your total landed costs. However, the process of calculating this cost is long, especially with multiple SKUs shipped to regions with varied customs fees/taxes. But do not worry, we are here to help! 🦸 Check out our complete guide to calculating your product landed costs here: https://lnkd.in/gawsSCJM

Keeping costs down while shipping your products into the USA can be a huge challenge, thanks to customs, import duties, and taxes. But thankfully there is a little provision called Section 321. This specific provision allows US-bound qualified shipments valued at $800 or less to receive duty-free entry. So, how can you claim it? This is where we come in to simplify the clearance process for you 😉 In September 2019, the CBP rolled out a test for a new informal entry type under Section 321. Known as Type 86, it provides a faster entry process for low-value Section 321 shipments. The goals of Type 86 are: 📦 Speed up processing time 📦 Improve security 📦 Enhance interagency communication 📦 Reduce costs Using Entry Type 86, manifests of products are uploaded to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) while the packages are en route to the U.S. Most packages are cleared automatically and immediately moved to a last-mile sorting facility upon arrival in the US; a very small subset are occasionally held for an additional day or two for inspection before being cleared. Generally, the more information that is provided to the CBP, the quicker and easier the clearance process is. Curious to know if you qualify for Section 321 and how we can help.
