Some of our Portsmouth Regional Hospital staff volunteered recently at Hero Pups to help get some four-legged friends squeaky clean. Hero Pups is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support dogs to veterans and first responders in New England who have been diagnosed with service-related psychological challenges. Our team jumped at the chance to visit the pups once a month to help keep them clean and healthy so they can learn to take care of those who have put their lives on the line. #CareLikeFamily #PRHProud

Our ED and Injury Prevention staff teamed up with Hampton Fire and EMS for the annual Water Safety Day on Hampton Beach. Our teams love being out and about in our communities, sharing safety tips and getting to know the people who call the Seacoast home, and those who love to visit our beautiful beaches!

Congratulations to Lexi McNally, facilities coordinator at Portsmouth Regional Hospital (PRH), who is our newest Colleague of the Month! We had to be super sneaky planning this one, as Lexi serves as the vice chair of the Employee Advisory Group (EAG), which manages this recognition program. Lexi has been with PRH for nearly 5 years, and is a go-to person for all things EAG, as well as in her facilities role. Our Portsmouth Regional Hospital ICU and respiratory therapy teams joined forces for good and collected summer items – snacks, games, beach towels and more – for the kids who live at Dover Children's Home, a leader in trauma-informed residential and community-based treatment for young people ages 10 to 21. A few seconds can make a big difference. Fortunately for Chris Phillips, a bystander jumped in to give him CPR when he had a heart attack, caring for him until Rye Fire arrived. Chris wanted to thank all who cared for him that day, and got the chance to do just that at a reunion at Rye Fire where he met up with the team who responded to the 911 call, the bystander Ryan McGill, and some of the Portsmouth Regional Hospital staff who cared for him when Rye Fire brought him to our ER.
