Truly "extending highways into the water" via Affordable Amphibious Hydrofoil "boat-car" vehicles.
About us
We are an electric vehicle and marine engineering driven company focusing on filling the current void of flat-towable electric amphibious hydrofoil highway legal "boat-car" vehicles. Our 1st vehicle is an electric 3+ seater, highway road-legal autocycle (3-wheel) with integration of hydrofoil marine capabilities for water travel. The combination of features and performance for our 1st vehicle, is UNIQUE and NO VEHICLE LIKE IT EXISTS TODAY. Our team consists of members with hundreds of years of combined experience in: amphibious vehicle operations, marine, electric vehicle powertrain engineering; vehicle composites, DFMA, low volume low cost manufacturing.

Seattle Tacoma area needs #TridentLS1 highway legal electric hydrofoil vehicles ... just look how many boat ramps they have which would allow access to water routes to create shorter total routes. #electrichydofoils

The beginning of patents and the first amphibious boat... On 19 June 1421, the Republic of Florence granted Filippo Brunelleschi a "three-year exclusive right to build and make use of his new type of boat" “Il Badalone”, an amphibious boat, on the river Arno in Florence. Although Brunelleschi’s boat did not survive its first outing and sank in the Arno, the legacy of his 1421 patent lives on today. The subsequent developments in intellectual property (IP) rights amongst the Italian city states are considered to be the progenitors of modern IP law. The Italian Renaissance’s principal heritage is embedding the concept of human ‘genius’ into our understanding of authorship and inventorship. https://lnkd.in/gEX8jDVJ First self-propelled vehicle that actually worked... The first known self-propelled amphibious vehicle, a steam-powered wheeled dredging barge, named the Orukter Amphibolos, was conceived and built by United States inventor Oliver Evans in 1805, although it is disputed to have successfully travelled over land or water under its own steam. https://lnkd.in/gs3TPttc.

Surface piercing V-foils vs fully submerged hydrofoils, such as T-foils, each has different advantages and disadvantages, including: Stability: Surface piercing hydrofoils are self-stabilizing and don't require control, while fully submerged hydrofoils are not self-stabilizing and require active stabilization via a computer, sensors, and control surfaces to adjust their forces/direction. However, advancements and cost reductions in drone technology make active stabilization lower risk and cost effective. Wave action: Fully submerged T-foils are less affected by wave action and are more stable in rough seas, while surface piercing hydrofoils don't perform well in waves and can pop out of the water. Drag: Surface piercing V-foils can save drag by piercing out of the water, while fully submerged T-foils "can" have more drag than partially submerged foils. However ventilation and/or cavitation can increase the drag exceeding the drag of t-foils. Lift: Surface piercing hydrofoils require less wing surface to produce lift at high speeds. Surface-piercing hydrofoils can achieve higher lift-to-drag ratios than fully submerged hydrofoils in some cases, especially when the air-water interface is smooth. However, surface-piercing hydrofoils are more prone to ventilation, which can be triggered by waves or debris. Hull crash: Surface piercing hydrofoils has the disadvantage that the hull might crash into the water if the foil exits the water. Stability: Fully submerged T-foils are more stable at sea and more comfortable for passengers because they are less affected by wave action then Surface piercing V-foils. Efficiency: Fully submerged T-foils are more efficient than surface piercing V-foils because they cause less drag. Wake: Fully submerged T-Foils produce much less wake and water disturbance than surface piercing V-Foils. #hydrofoils #electrichydrofoil #electricboat #HydrofoilBoats #tridentls1 uses fully submerged computer controlled hydrofoils, however they are "U" shape, to allow maximal use of interior space when foils are fully retracted.

We were not the first to think of amphibious reverse (tadpole) trikes. No this 1949 vehicle was not highway legal, but certainly teased the imagination to what could be possible. As with many vehicle concepts, someone has tried it in the past. However our fans and investors feel we have designed something truly unique, that answers over 55 years of pent up demand; with a solution that provides at least no compromises as a boat; and should do pretty well as a highway legal AWD car - our first vehicle the #TridentLS1 https://lnkd.in/gqSwJy59

Reminder to long time followers and new information to our new followers: ELECTRIC BOATS offer lower operational costs, lower maintenance and higher reliability than traditional fossil-fueled boats, and, ELECTRIC HYDROFOIL BOATS offer all of those advantages Plus even lower operational costs. See below sample Miami trip Costs: $22 vs $8 vs $2 !!😍 #TridentLS1 is a fully submerged electric hydrofoil boat (and a highway legal car) (thx Lift Ocean)

Trailering a boat, launching and retrieving a boat has many risks for newbies and also experienced boaters... ...what if there was a "boat" that you simply drive down the highway and into the water via a boat ramp with minimal risks for newbies? #TridentLS1 will be that answer https://lnkd.in/gH4zkMpP One experts advice avoiding most of the trailer towing failures and boat launching and retrieving failures... fishtailing jack knifing of trailer/boat are just some additional fail situations that happen more than people realize... https://lnkd.in/gi4Gue5k https://lnkd.in/gdtUd5RC

With #TridentLS1 planned support of NACs, this constantly updated map of Tesla superchargers It's quite helpful - If anyone has a superior map please let us know. For the first time in history, a "boat" not on a trailer, can pull up to a Tesla supercharger and get charged up. As far as we know, there are very few Tesla supercharger stations that will support a towing vehicle and a boat on a trailer.
