We're excited to see the North Carolina Institute of Medicine (NCIOM) convening state stakeholders to review progress on the Essentials for Childhood recommendations! These efforts are crucial in creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments for families to prevent child maltreatment.   Our President & CEO, Sharon Hirsch, is honored to co-chair this important committee alongside Meredith Archie of the NC Chamber Foundation. As part of ongoing work with the NC Department of Health and Human Services, this review will help develop a public health framework for child maltreatment prevention and contribute to an updated State Action Plan.   Check out the NCIOM's post for more details and stay tuned for updates!

Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are so important for families and communities! At Positive Childhood Alliance North Carolina, we understand and support the vital work of the FRCs across our state. That's why our NC FRC Network seeks to connect FRCs from across North Carolina to both increase investments and promote best practices in family support services through advocacy and collaboration. Today was the State Health Improvement Plan Community Council's 2024 Annual Meeting to celebrate the Community Council, reflect on progress over the past year, and share next steps. The meeting also focused on the work of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Work Group, co-led by our President & CEO Sharon Hirsch, Dr. Wanda Johnson Boone, and Gerri Mattson, MD! Celebrating strides in understanding ACEs data in NC! 🌟 Strengthening efforts with diverse partners and leadership. Valuable time spent aligning and synergizing with other initiatives across the state. Engaging actively in data and community initiatives.
