Each week, we’ll be highlighting four exceptional individuals who are setting an inspiring example of aging with confidence, purpose, and impact in our communities. ⭐Abe Arvizu Jr. Arvizu Jr. is a distinguished community leader in Phoenix, known for preserving the Historic Sacred Heart Church through the Braun-Sacred Heart Center. With nearly 40 years at Chicanos Por La Causa, he advocates for Chicano rights. As President of AFSCME Local 2384, he championed labor practices and served as a volunteer firefighter for two decades. ⭐Andrea Weeks-Hardin Weeks-Hardin is an active retiree following two decades of service with Sonoran Health and Aesthetic Specialists. She served on the Board of the George Washington Carver Museum, Consortium of Black Organizations and Others in the Arts, and African American Advisory Board for Governor Janet Napolitano. ⭐Ann Wheat Wheat, Executive Director of Duet: Partners In Health & Aging, has over 35 years of nonprofit experience, focusing on underserved communities. Joining in 2015, she became Executive Director in 2019. Ann founded Arizona Camp Sunrise and AZ Lost Boys Center and has received multiple awards for her contributions. She leads Duet in supporting homebound adults and caregivers. ⭐Ben Lytle Lytle, author of The Potentialist and Advisor at Lytle Healthcare, is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor known for his forward-thinking insights. His work explores transformative forces shaping our future, inspiring individuals to embrace their potential. A fitness enthusiast and grandfather, he aims to prepare the next generation for change.
