On October 4th, PowerSecure came together for an unforgettable Employee Appreciation Day with food trucks, games, and prizes. But beyond celebrating our incredible team, we turned our focus toward helping those impacted by Hurricane Helene, which has left millions without power and caused historic flooding. As citizens in the communities where we live and work, we stepped up. Our team organized a donation drive, collecting essentials like bottled water and paper products to aid recovery efforts. Employees personally loaded and delivered these donations, embodying our "One Team" spirit in action. Eric Dupont, Senior VP of Customer Care, took part in delivering the supplies to Alliance Bible Fellowship, partnering with churches and organizations across Avery, Ashe, and Watauga County. “People truly appreciate receiving the essentials of life,” Eric said. "Our efforts made a real impact, and the timing was ideal." Hurricane Milton Update: PowerSecure's Response Hurricane Milton made landfall earlier than expected last night as a Category 3 storm, with its eye passing just south of Bradenton, FL. The West coast of Florida, from Tampa to Fort Myers, has been significantly impacted, with widespread flooding and many roads and bridges closed. While the worst of the storm has now passed, over 3 million Floridians are currently without power. At PowerSecure, our teams have been working non-stop to support affected communities: 300+ sites are currently in operation, delivering power through our systems. Our PowerControl Monitoring team worked through the night, ensuring units remained online and many sites were isolated on generation to avoid utility disruptions. Technicians are already en route this morning to troubleshoot issues and provide mobile dispatch support where needed. Our priority is keeping your power on when you need it most. Hurricane Milton continues to close in on Florida. Currently Milton is a Category 4 storm. It may slightly weaken today before the eye makes impact, but it’s still a major hurricane and the threat to life and property remains significant. The outer bands of the storm are across much of the peninsula and expected to continue with heavy rain, high winds and severe weather for the next 24-36 hours. Significant storm surge is expected to cause damage across the West coast of Florida with greatest impact being around Tampa with forecasts ranging between 8-15 feet. Many areas along the coast are already evacuated and roads/bridges are being preemptively shut down to prevent further access. The storm surge along with hurricane force winds is expected to cause extreme damage to the region. If you’re in the area please use extreme caution, follow all local warnings and please only travel when conditions are safe. As Milton moves across Florida, it will remain a hurricane. The East coast of Florida will experience reduced wind speeds and storm surge, but still at hurricane strength. PowerSecure anticipates widespread damage and utility outages throughout the night.

The storm’s eye is projected to make landfall Wednesday afternoon near Bradenton, FL, with its powerful reach stretching across much of central Florida. Communities from Naples to Ocala should brace for hurricane-force winds as Milton sweeps through. While forecasts agree on the storm’s path, its strength at landfall remains uncertain, with projections ranging from Category 2 to Category 4. Regardless, cities like Tampa and Orlando are expected to face significant impact throughout Wednesday.
