He says his favorite part of his job is being able to support patients and families by helping them change their lives. "As nurses we have the amazing opportunity to educate people about their condition and help them make lifestyle changes that can positively impact their life quality and life expectancy." But he also makes sure he looks out for his team. "I want my team to leave each day proud of their accomplishments. I also want them to leave the challenges of the day, whether heavy emotions or frustrations, at work. I encourage my team to use their ride home to let go and prepare themselves for shifting into family life or personal time so they can be fully present where they are. #PartnerSpotlight #MeaningfulRecognition

She says she is a big fan of expressing gratitude and routinely handwrite colorful cards to her colleagues to thank them for their efforts. "One of the Practicing Excellence tips talked about not just expressing gratitude directly to the person, but to also do it in public. I was recently able to demonstrate this skill on a Zoom call with several clinicians and staff. After I spoke, others then verbalized their gratitude about how this particular person had contributed positively to the group.
