We Move People Forward
About us
PRC is a new $30-million San Francisco nonprofit formed through the merger of Positive Resource Center, Baker Places, and AIDS Emergency Fund. Leveraging a 50-year legacy of community service, PRC is focused on ending homelessness and improving the quality of life in the City by removing social barriers to good health and financial stability. Through PRC’s uniquely integrated legal, social, and health services each year more than 5,000 people are building income, getting healthy, and staying housed. The mission of PRC is to help people affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use, or mental health issues better realize opportunities by providing integrated legal, social, and health services that address the broad range of social risk factors that impact wellness and limit potential.

Building strong partnerships in the community is a big piece of our work to create a San Francisco that works for everyone. One such partnership we're grateful to have is that of June Hong and Marsh McLennan Agency. Beyond our benefits administration, MMA continues to find ways to support our staff and vision. June, pictured left, had this to say about her experience accepting our Outstanding Corporate Partner Award during Mighty Real earlier this month: "I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey we've shared, from my initial outreach on submitting the PRC for the Barney & Barney Foundation nomination, culminating in receiving the Outstanding Corporate Partner Award on behalf of MMA at The Mighty Real event. It truly was a joyous experience! Accepting that award was one of the most memorable moments of my life, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to represent MMA. I look forward to our on-going partnership with you and PRC!" We appreciate MMA and the Barney and Barney Foundation for their trust and support they've expressed through this recognition. "In recent months, local media and some politicians have been promoting the myth that nonprofits receiving grants from the City of San Francisco are mismanaged, bloated, inefficient, and 'mired in scandal.' Sadly, this myth—and it is a myth—is taking hold in the public conscience." Through legal assistance, health care, support services, advocacy, and more, PRC and the other 24 member organizations of the HIV/AIDS Provider Network (HAPN) are proud of our impact as we protect our communities’ health and provide an economic benefit to the City as responsible stewards of public funds.
