This week the Science Center hosted more than 600 middle and high school students for the fourth annual Manufacturing Day, presented by Rockwell Automation. Students from 26 schools across Northeast Ohio interacted with representatives from leading manufacturing and technology companies and nearly a dozen education partners during the event. Interactive sessions for the students included insights from industry professionals on their manufacturing career experiences through mentorship sessions, hands-on activities, and a Manufacturing Career Expo. A special thank you to the local manufacturing partners and their corporate volunteers including Rockwell Automation, Swagelok, Applied Industrial Technologies, Olympic Steel, PPG, Héroux-Devtek, Lincoln Electric, The Lubrizol Corporation, Saint-Gobain, Sherwin-Williams, The Timken Company, Trane Technologies and Worthington Steel. We'd also like to thank our community education and advocacy partners, including Cuyahoga Community College, Baldwin Wallace University, MAGNET: The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network, The University of Akron, Washkewicz College of Engineering at Cleveland State University, Forging Industry Association, Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, Women in Manufacturing, Precision Metalforming Association, Northeastern Ohio Science & Engineering Fair and the Ohio Lottery Commission.
