The World Health Organization states that “Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a near or distance vision impairment. In at least 1 billion of these, vision impairment could have been prevented or is yet to be addressed.” (https://lnkd.in/djtsbdV) This is a good reminder to think about our vision health. Some simple things everyone can do to protect their vision health include: 👀 take frequent breaks from looking at screens (or focusing up close) to focus on a distant object 👀 wash hands frequently and avoid touching near your eyes 👀 wear safety glasses when participating in activities with potential flying objects

🔥 President Calvin Coolidge made Fire Prevention Week a national observance in 1925. The National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) sponsors a new theme each year. This year, the NFPA chose “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” Here are their three safety tips: 1 - Smoke alarms should be installed in each bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on each floor (including basements). 2 - Test smoke alarms each month with the test button. 3 - Replace smoke alarms after ten years or if they stop working when tested.
