A new study out of Penn State University reveals critical insights into the challenges faced by women with opioid use disorder (OUD), particularly those involved in the criminal legal system. The research shows that women in these circumstances are less likely to seek treatment for their OUD.    This study highlights the crucial role of harm reduction tools in preventing overdoses among this population. Understanding these unique challenges is essential for developing more inclusive and effective approaches to OUD treatment and support.
