🏠 Home sweet home. Our tasting room offers a unique vantage point of the Santa Maria Valley, situated high atop a hill with ocean and vineyard views. Sipping wine on our terrace is truly a magical experience, and we're so lucky to call this stunning location home. I mean... just look at this view. But do you know how we got here? After an extensive search that spanned the West Coast, the Murphy family acquired our unplanted plot of land in the Santa Maria Valley in 2007. Located sixteen miles from the Pacific Ocean with the majestic San Rafael Mountains looming in the background, these ancient sand dunes were planted with an emphasis on diversity. The Murphys planted the vineyard to maximize the diversity of row directions, spacing, clones, and rootstock. The resulting vineyard site is a winemaker's dream, offering a treasure trove of individual blocks and sections that showcase a variety of microclimates and terroirs. At Presqu'ile, the Santa Maria Vally is more than just a view; it's a major influence on the wines you sip every time you visit. 📷 Craft & Cluster | Heather Daenitz #winerymarketing #winemarketing #agriculture #winemaking #santabarbara #californiawine

🦉 Vineyard Happenings 🦉 What an incredible week here at Presqu'ile. The summer heat is finally pushing the grapes along, and we're seeing the beginnings of veraison. 🍇 Veraison is the onset of ripening, and it's a very important time in the annual lifecycle of the vines. What does this mean for your glass? The grapes are naturally beginning to sweeten. We know this is happening because of how they change color from green to red (with red grapes) or become more translucent (with white grapes). Essentially, it means we're one step closer to getting the 2024 vintage ready for the bottle. 🥂 In even more exciting news, we're so happy to welcome a few new tenants to our vineyard Owl Boxes. We put the boxes up all over the property as a safe place for owls to set up their home and help us naturally control pests in the vineyard. What a surprise to find so many little families taking up residence this past week. How cute are those little owl babies? That's all for now. Keep checking back weekly for more updates from the vineyard as we approach harvest. Thanks to our Vineyard Manager, Andrew, for capturing these fun shots! #winemaking #winery #sustainability #winemarketing #agriculture #integratedpestmanagement

Join us in wishing our Assistant Winemaker, Mike Chase, a very happy 10th anniversary. Mike brings a tremendous amount of experience to the production team at Presqu'ile. A Cal Poly alumni, he's traveled the world in pursuit of furthering his wine education, with stops in New Zealand, France, and Argentina (to name a few). Now, he helps keep our wine production in check, handling everything from his usual assistant winemaking duties to ensuring the facility equipment is functioning properly and, most importantly, coordinating much of the harvest team. His dedication to ensuring the safety and happiness of the crew is unparalleled, making each harvest a success both out in the vineyard and in the bottle itself. Raise a tasty glass of your favorite Presqu'ile wine to 10 amazing years with Mike! Here's to many more!🥂

🍇 Recent scenes from the vineyard. This is one of our favorite times of the year here at the winery. From flowering to fruit set, the grapes are coming along beautifully. Next up? Ripening. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Mother Nature is on our side and that we don't get too many surprises from here on out. What's your favorite time to walk through the vineyard? 📸 Craft & Cluster #winemarketing #winery #agriculture #winerymanagement

Raise your hand if the summer heat is making you crave some crisp, cool Aligoté? 🙋 Our 2023 Presqu'ile Aligoté is now available on the website, but it won't last long. The 2023 vintage is brimming with aromas of apple, lemon and pear. This wine is a great pairing with roast chicken, cream-based pasta, or a fresh strawberry summer salad. It's the perfect wine for those summer pool parties and BBQs. So, the next time you're looking for a fresh summer sipper, consider this one to put on your list. 📸 Heather Daenitz | Craft & Cluster #winemarketing #whitewine #winemaking #aligoté #californiawine

💫 #FlashbackFriday: We can't stop thinking about Presqu'ile Prom Night! Thank you to everyone who came out and made our first Presqu'ile Pretty in Pink Prom Night such a HUGE success. From The Molly Ringwald Project performing live in the amphitheater to our incredible food vendors (BBQ in The Stix Nenas Kitchen, Dannys Pizza Co) cooking up tasty treats, the night went off without a hitch because of you. Thank you for dressing up, jamming hard, and making it a night to remember. These are just a few of our favorite snapshots from the night. Comment below if you think we should repeat the madness next year. 📸 @craftandcluster

🍾 Join us in celebrating two incredible work-iversaries: Isaias Flores & Janeen Garcia! 🍇 Isaias is celebrating 11 years at Presqu'ile, helping to put delicious wines into your glass. His tenure began working amongst the vines, learning the nuances of growing grapes, and getting to know the various sites throughout our property. In 2013, he joined the production team in the winery for his first harvest, and the rest, as we say, is history! Today, he's our cellar master, making sure everything that happens in our winery and warehouse gets done and done right. We are so grateful for the work he does each and every day keeping us (and the wine) on track from the vineyard to the bottle. 🥂 Janeen is celebrating an exciting 10 years as our Office Manager and it's safe to say that nothing gets done around here without her. Her attention to detail, unparalleled organizational skills, and friendly face keep all the BTS action going here at Presqu'ile. She is the one who keeps us all on track and ensures we have what we need to get our jobs done. From coordinating lunches for the entire harvest crew to processing the checks for payroll or telling us where the tape is hiding, we would be lost without her. We are so excited to celebrate these two and their undeniable contributions to Presqu'ile's success. Join us in raising a glass to them, and make sure to send congratulations the next time you see them around the winery!
