SNAP®, which stands for STOP NOW AND PLAN, is an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral model powered by the minds at Child Development Institute (CDI). SNAP® helps troubled children and their parents learn how to effectively manage their emotions and “keep problems small.” The gender-sensitive SNAP® programs are designed for children ages 6-17 who are engaging in aggressive, anti-social behavior and/or have come into contact with authority figures at school or in the community. Highly trained staff work with each family to develop goals that focus on preventing and reducing the chances of conflict with family, peers, and authority figures.

Serving Fathers of all kinds across Broward County and surrounding communities! The presence of nurturing fathers has a profound impact on children’s health and well-being. H.I.M is an evidence-based program that empowers dads to build strong relationships with their children. The goal of this program is to build a human service culture that’s father inclusive, while engaging and serving fathers by increasing awareness of the positive impact of father involvement on the well-being of children, mothers, families, and communities!

PREVENTION CENTRAL is a 501 © (3), non-profit, faith-based organization which was founded in 1993. Initially organized to address the issues over representation of minorities in the juvenile justice system. Our services are designed to work with runaway, truant, and ungovernable youth and their families by increasing social and life management skills, academic success and self-worth awareness. We expanded to respond to issues of Family Reunification Services, Prevention, Emergency Food Pantry, Parenting and Neighborhood Empowerment. Since inception, our focus has been on the needs of disadvantaged youth and the families in the inner city of Fort Lauderdale and Broward County as a whole. Prevention Central is essential, and continues to "Build Families and Change Lives"!
