Last month, Pri-Med Institute, in partnership with CE Outcomes and the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), proudly participated in the Best in Class Outcomes poster session at the Alliance Industry Summit for 'Taking the Dialogue to the Next Level: Facilitating Open Communication About Obesity—A Motivational Interviewing Workshop.’ These CME/CE workshops, supported by an educational grant from Lilly, showcase our dedication to addressing challenges in obesity management. A total of 480 primary care providers (MD, DO, NP, and PA) participated across 13 small group offerings, engaging in role-playing exercises, structured peer-to-peer feedback, and expert faculty insights. The aim was to empower these clinicians to use non-judgmental language, apply motivational interviewing techniques, and create patient-centered treatment plans. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all the volunteers from our team who dedicated their time at the Greater Boston Food Bank! We spent the morning unloading shipments of nonperishable food donations and assembling family meal boxes. In just a three-hour shift, we created 9,000 meals, sustaining a family of four for over two years! We learned that food insecurity in Eastern MA has risen from affecting 1 in 10 families to 1 in 3 since the pandemic.
