This morning, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Robert Frost K-8 School in New Carrollton with Prince George's County Public Schools. Education is one of our most essential investments, which is why we work tirelessly to provide quality school buildings for our children. Through Phase 2 of our innovative Alternative Construction Program, we’ve broken ground on 8 new schools, furthering our commitment to our young people. It is a Proud Priority of the Alsobrooks Administration to deliver the types of learning environments our students deserve. CC: MCN Build, Perkins Eastman DC, City of New Carrollton Mayor Katrina Dodro, and our many other speakers and partners on this.

  • 23 years ago today, nearly 3,000 American lives were lost in a devastating act of terrorism on our country. We join the nation in recognizing Patriot Day in honor of the fallen and the fighters. Let us all take a moment to remember and honor those who lost their lives as well as the heroic efforts of the first responders and law enforcement personnel who put their lives on the line to save so many others.

Latino Affairs Liaison @ Prince George's County | Empowering Latino/a Leaders in Government: Elevating Futures, Shaping Policy.

This past week, our County Executive, Angela Alsobrooks, along with the Department of Public Works and Transportation, announced the launch of the first-ever countywide Residential Street Sweeping Program. This program will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd. A special thank you to Ruby Stemmle, CEO of ecoLatinos for her remarks on behalf of our Latino community and for reaffirming our commitment to care for our Madre Tierra. These street sweepers are designed to pick up litter and toxins with regenerative air cleaners that remove pollutants from curbs, streets, and drains in our neighborhoods. This new program will not only improve the cleanliness of our streets but will also have a positive impact on our homes, the air we breathe, and our rivers and streams by reducing the amount of roadside waste that is tracked inside homes. The program will be implemented in two phases: the first phase will focus on the western region of the county, and the second will begin in Spring 2025. Many of our larger Latino communities are located in the western part of the county and will be among the first communities to benefit from this amazing program! Residents should enter their address to see their street sweeping schedule and know when street-parked vehicles need to be moved. Get prepared and find more details and updates at: mypgc.us/sweep.
