Georgia Tech is the first unlucky organization to face the DOJ's Civil Cyber-Fraud initiative. According to the complaint, a Whistleblower revealed that 'Star Researchers' were allowed not to deploy antivirus - violating #CMMC requirements. Allegations point to non-compliance and submission of a fraudulent assessment score to the government, a serious offense with potential legal and financial repercussions. Critical takeaways for everyone in the audience: The Government empowers your employees to report misconduct.  Whistleblowers are entitled to 15-30% of the total amount the Government recovers. They are compensated for personal damages and protected from retaliation.
