“If you want to see something fixed, make it a C-suite problem.” This article hits the nail on the head for cybersecurity across all industries: Senior leadership is not unaware of the cybersecurity threats out there. They are not adequately "incentivized" to protect the sensitive data they do not own. So long as large corporations can get away with paying fines, they will do so and move on. But what if they're facing jail time? Is it time for the balance of power in the C-suite to shift from CFOs to CIOs and CISOs? What do you think? #CIO #CISO #cybersecurity

We'd agree with your assessment if this sounds like a prequel to FedRAMP-approved AI programs that enable companies to leverage AI programs safely. This is mainly because it indicates that one of the goals of the CASTLE program is to develop "techniques for the quick certification of software." With the AI genie out of the proverbial bottle and tightening regulatory compliance on cybersecurity, it's just a matter of time. In the meantime, how are you keeping your data safe while leveraging AI programs in your company? #AI #FedRamp #cybersecurity

📢 TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR DATA! LinkedIn's new privacy policy went into effect yesterday, and if you look at your profile settings, you'll notice many changes. LinkedIn was already collecting user data to train AI systems before alerting users. If you're lucky enough to live in the EU, you don't have to worry about this because this kind of dirty trick is illegal there (Hooray for GDPR! 🎊 ) But if you live elsewhere (including the US), you'll find that you're automatically opted into sharing your data with LinkedIn and its associates, to whom they sell this information. Fun fact: They have no intention of deleting the data they collected before giving you the ability to opt-out, so there's that. What's a mere mortal to do? Go into your LinkedIn settings and opt out of the "Data For Generative AI Improvement" setting. While you're at it, review ALL the settings because they have been changed, and you'll want to ensure your preferences are set. While you're at it, LinkedIn has created a "Data Processing Objection Form" to which you can submit any specific objections or share your feelings about their practices. We're SURE they hope you'll be open and honest with your thoughts, so please be generous. (Link Below) While you're (still) at it, you should also check your Meta accounts (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads) and Slack settings because those have changed, too, among others, all in the name of generative AI. #dataprivacy

With the arrival of #CMMC enforcement (along with other #cybersecurity and #dataprivacy laws) just around the corner, along with a surge in interest in #AI, and the overall cultural shift towards security awareness, it's no surprise that #stocks in companies operating in the cybersecurity space are expected to soar. Even with this year's setback for #CrowdStrike, it seems to be just a minor hiccup on their path to long-term growth, a trajectory that looks very promising for their investors. Which companies or types of products do you think #investors will benefit from the most in the next few years?

Hey everyone, #NIST is throwing a party, and you're invited! It's the Human-Centered Cybersecurity party, which will explore the critical role that humans play in it. 🎉 Let's be real, folks: the human element is one of the most critical components to security success or failure. We've seen time and time again how a simple mistake or lack of oversight can lead to major security breaches, costing companies millions. Take the recent case of #Raytheon facing a hefty $200M settlement. One example of a blunder is an employee taking their work laptop containing extremely sensitive weapon information on a personal trip to Russia! Yikes! It's clear that cybersecurity requires a cultural shift and a massive dose of reality about human behavior. Let's all come together and find better ways to protect each other from the one thing we can't escape - our own human nature. #CMMC #ITAR #compliance #cybersecurity #secops #governance #GRC #risk
