  • Leaders, make it easy for your team to prioritize voting. If you’re feeling unsure of how you can support our democracy, start here. Two week countdown is soon to begin. Plan ahead. Work and family commitments can cause people to miss the polls. Take away that barrier. Consider some of the following ideas?: - can I give my team the day off? - can I stagger schedules or offer late starts? - can I have everyone work from home if that helps their voting? - can I encourage everyone to block and hour or two to go vote early or vote on the 5th? - can I lead by example and block my calendar and let my team know why and encourage them to do the same? #leadership

  • Like many in the northeast, this week, we got to see the Northern Lights. A bucket list item. And it got me thinking… I’ve worked alongside and coached many incredible, hardworking professionals. Given how much work they are doing throughout the week, there’s often sentiments shared about “can’t wait until the weekend” or that they have long marathons of work around the clock until PTO. Experiencing this fleeting, yet remarkable sight was a great reminder that life doesn’t and shouldn’t wait for weekends or vacations. While work can be fulfilling in many ways, we should make sure we are always making time for things that matter outside of work. In fact, it makes us better in all aspects of life, work included. Seeing this sight could have easily been missed because my inbox was getting full or because I was too zonked from a busy work day. Let’s not wait for moments but make them.

It's week 2 in the TLC Classroom and Frances Frei is back. 🌟 Our participants are learning applicable frameworks to solve their trust wobbles AND diving into how you can build a more inclusive environment by cherishing and celebrating differences. (And all of that is happening in 90 minutes - go Frances go! 🚀 ) If you could earn 10 times the amount of trust you have today, what would you do with it?

  • Whether working with Execs or new people managers, there is often the thought that feedback should be reserved for criticism (or positive feedback should only be sprinkled in occasionally). Rarely is enough affirming feedback given when developing teams. This has a big impact on people development and also on change management. When employees are made to be confident that their leaders have seen their successes, they are more willing to take on organizational changes. #leadershipcoaching #changemanagement

  • This is so often the fear we hear about when talking with professionals questioning their field. Couldn’t agree more with this sentiment. Make the leap today.

  • We’ve all been in those “this could have been an email” meetings or meetings that were really unnecessary all together or meetings that got so off track that it wasted everyone’s time. When working with leaders, one of the easy tips to make meetings effective is to start with meeting norms or a meeting charter. Some of my favorite meeting norms have included “agenda requirement” and “be present or be elsewhere.” Call meetings only when you can spell out an agenda and goal where a meeting is needed. Attend meetings only if you are going to be fully engaged- distracted meetings are a waste of time for everyone. What are your favorite meeting norms? #leadership #processconsulting
