We often fall in the trap of working very long hours to achieve more. But I have learned firsthand that being “always on”, if it comes at the expense of taking care of ourselves, can actually have the opposite effect. While we cannot always control what is happening at work, we can try to control how we deal with it. Sometimes it is as simple as acknowledging that we cannot go full speed every day, and give ourselves permission to slow down. Allowing ourselves to regularly rest and recharge is what helps build resilience for the long run. Something that I have been practicing over the last year, is focusing on my 3Ps: 🌍 Perspective One of the ways I learned to face life’s uncertainties and challenges, is by regaining perspective. Will that stressful thing consuming you today be as daunting in the bigger picture? Probably not! Taking a step back can provide clarity and space for more constructive decisions. ❤ Passion I make sure to carve out time for the things I love outside of work. Spending time cooking with my family or gardening are small rituals that help me recharge for the week ahead. And are something I look forward to! 🧍♀️ Presence Learning to be present, especially in the moments that count. Sometimes this simply means to put our phones away and fully enjoy the conversation with our loved ones. It makes a huge difference. At work and in life, we all face challenges. Some big, some small, some extraordinary. It is important to remember that we cannot lead our teams, support or care for others, if we keep putting our own mental wellbeing at the bottom of our list. So let’s talk about it. What steps will you take to support your mental health? #WorldMentalHealthDay
