Subject: Next Chapter
Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Family:
Unless you’re Mick Jagger, there comes a time in all professional lives “to pass the mic”! For me that time has come, and as of tomorrow October 1st I will be retiring as CEO of ProcureAmerica.
When my career started 4 decades ago, I could never have imagined where this journey would take me. I have been blessed to have worked in both the public and private sector, served with extraordinary and dedicated professionals in interesting and challenging industries … and along the way I was fortunate to have served one US President and two California Governors. What an honor and I am so grateful to all of you that have helped and supported me over these past 40+ years!
With the above said, it is my most recent post as CEO of ProcureAmerica that has been the most rewarding stage of my career. The company’s mission is noble, our clients are selfless, and the ProcureAmerica team (my work family) is both highly talented and passionate. To put into context, your efforts have provided over $250M in supplementary financial resources back to local government, healthcare organizations, and educational institutions; you made a difference, and I am very proud to have worked with you!
In professional golf they have the Senior’s Tour, but no such luck in business. I will miss being in the arena, I will miss serving our clients, but most of all I will miss working side-by-side with my team at ProcureAmerica and the folks at SIB. You’re the best in the industry and I know you will continue to provide our clients with the highest service levels possible.
Next chapter: I look forward to spending more time with my 3 wonderful kids, creating more memories with family and friends, and getting my golf handicap lower (it’s been rising lately- lol). In closing I need to thank my wife Amy (today is our 35th anniversary) – She has always been my biggest supporter and all that is good in my life happens because of her!
So long and best wishes,
Fred Armendariz
