Product Safety Letter reposted this
Thanks for sharing this disappointing letter from the House Committee on Energy and Commerce to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The CPSC must be accessible to both consumers and industry, and it starts by attending conferences like ICPHSO (Intl Consumer Product Health & Safety Organization). This is where agency officials can connect with hundreds of key players in product safety from around the world. As a consumer & victim advocate I have found ICPHSO to be a neutral space where retailers, manufacturers, & consumer safety advocates come together to discuss current consumer product health and safety trends. The CPSC needs to be involved in this environment, in order to achieve our shared goal of product safety. I would urge all CPSC commissioners & staff to regularly attend conferences like ICPHSO to listen, speak, and network with stakeholders. This is how we make Consumer Products safer!
