SURVEY Many people would admit they're terrible at living in the present. Since companies are result and quota-driven, we're always focused on the future and what's next, at the cost of what's NOW, which is where patience, care, coaching, listening and more sales happen. So does your life. #bepresent #whatdoyouthink

“But isn’t this important to you, Dear Prospect? 👉“NO.” Don't sell the way you buy. Your buying process isn’t your prospect’s. Adapt your approach to align how your prospects like to buy, not how you like to sell. Here are 10 costly implications when salespeople sell the way they buy. You can’t "put yourself in their shoes" unless you truly know what’s important to them. 1. Personal biases: Assuming prospects make decisions like you leads to faulty assumptions and missed sales. 2. Varied buying styles: Every buyer has their own unique process, and one size doesn't fit all. 3. Overcomplicating sales: You could lose impulsive buyers by overloading them with unnecessary information. 4. Missed opportunities: Selling based on your preferences may alienate customers who want different approaches. 5. Increased objections: Your personal values and beliefs might clash with those of your prospects, leading to more pushback. 6. Unnecessary confusion: Over-explaining or offering too many options can overwhelm customers. 7. Emotional misalignment: A prospect’s emotional triggers might differ from your own, resulting in disconnect. 8. Lower closing rates: Assuming your decision-making process aligns with theirs often results in fewer closed deals. 9. Lost trust: When you impose your values on a prospect, they may feel misunderstood and pull away. 10. Tailored approach: Success comes from adapting your sales approach to each prospect’s unique needs and preferences.

Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, the friends I've lost, to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11. If we learned nothing else from this horrific tragedy, life is short and there is no time for hate. We are now faced with another opportunity for all of us to come together and move forward as one. Let the American spirit prevail in all of us and let us never forget the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our nation. #911 #USA #neverforget #September11 #fallenheroes

How to Become a Better Listener in 45 Seconds. Listening is a learned skill you continually develop, not something innate. Are you an active listener or a passive listener? It's not that you have a bad memory; you're just not listening at a deeper level. Here's how to become an intentional, proactive listener. (From the sales archives :-)

I had my driveway redone recently. I gave the job to a 27 year old kid (at my age, everyone's a kid) who was just starting his business. Him and his dad showed up (who did most of the work - a good dad trying to teach his son. :-) and nicely finished the job. Afterwards, I immediately texted him a referral; a friend who lives around the corner from my house. He never thanked me. 😲 What's worse, when I saw my friend a week later and asked her what happened, she said, "I left three messages. He never called me back. So I hired someone else." I gave this kid a sale; put it in his hands. But because of his lack of immediate follow up, or in this case none at all, he was the one who lost the sale and gave it to someone else. The exponential cost - his reputation, and my reluctance to ever give him a referral again. Sometimes, just following up one more time than your competition can make the difference between earning a sale or losing one. That's when follow up becomes your competitive edge. Check out these stats and 🌟JUST FOLLOW UP!🌟 What are your thoughts? #sales #leadership #salesmanagement #coaching #selling

This week we were fortunate to secure the very gracious and generous sales leadership coach and #1 Amazon selling author Keith Rosen onto our show. He’s the author of Coaching Salespeople into Sales Champions, the #1 best-selling sales management coaching book on Amazon and Sales Leadership, which was named Amazon’s 2018 Sales Leadership Book of the Year. Keith has be named one of the most influential coaches by Inc. magazine and Fast Company. Since 1989, Keith has coached over 3 million managers and salespeople on six continents in over 75 countries. In this episode we discuss: - why you can't scale dependency - why sales managers deflect and prefer to focus on their teams instead of themselves (what Keith calls a global epidemic) - how to manage low performers and coach for accountability - how to use questions to open up possibilities in coaching conversations - the top traits of the most successful sales managers - how to run effective sales meetings - the importance of taking time to self-reflect to improve self-awareness This is a masterclass for rural sales managers, or sales managers in general and is one of the best episodes we've recorded. I'd also strongly recommend you go and buy all his books as they are brilliant. #ruralsales
