Congratulations to our Founder and CEO for her election as President of the Board of the Arc! This is #DisabilityLeadership
What an honor of a lifetime! This weekend, I was elected to be the next President of the Board of The Arc of the United States. With nearly 600 chapters nationwide and a 75-year history, The Arc is the oldest and largest nonprofit in the U.S. advocating with and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Known for its advocacy and policy work, we have a robust agenda ahead of us: safeguarding Medicaid access, promoting equitable and inclusive education, championing criminal justice reform, and much more, ranging from health initiatives to housing, employment, technology, travel, future planning, and the full spectrum of matters impacting the civil rights and lives of people with disabilities. I look forward to the collaboration with CEO Katy Neas, former President Laura Kennedy, The Arc Board, Foundation Board, leaders and staff, government officials, non-profit partners, and our many corporate partners, including Amazon, AT&T, The Coca-Cola Company, Comcast, The Lids Foundation , Mutual of America Financial Group, Progressive Insurance, SEPHORA, Verizon and more. It is a privilege to serve the 1 million+ individuals and families reached by The Arc each year. #disability #leadership #a11y Katy Neas, Laura Kennedy, Burt Hudson, Chloe Rothschild, Dick Rhoad, Carol Wheeler, Dawn Sweeney, NACD.DC, RUBEN RODRIGUEZ, Julie Ward, Marty Ford, Shira Wakschlag, Robyn Linscott, Karim Merchant (he/him/his), Kristen (Bossi) McKiernan, Jessica D., Jackie Dilworth, Glenn Griffin, Darcy Milburn, Claire Manning, FRANK ADU, Meghan Burke, Kim Dodson, Jasmine Harris, Pablo Juárez, Stacy E Kray, Russell Lehmann, Jamelia Morgan, Dr. Yvette Pegues, Ed.D.
