ESTABLISHING SCHOOL EQUITY

About us

The Progression Partners' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative support the promotion of racial and cultural equity in schools. The initiative will help PreK-12 school districts with targeted support to administrators and staff to strengthen cultural and racial awareness to achieve an equitable learning environment. The initiative will assist PreK-12 school districts with focused support for administrators and staff in order to build cultural and racial awareness to achieve an equitable learning environment. We recognize equity is the principle of altering current practices and perspectives to teach for social transformation and to promote anti-bias learning outcomes for students and staff of all racial, cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic groups. 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 Progression Partners’ Equity through Cultural Proficiency Initiative helps to increase student achievement by developing effective leaders and teachers that align policies, practices, values, and procedures to meet the needs of all students, regardless of culture, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. This helps schools bridge the performance gap for minority students, increase student engagement in classrooms, improve student attendance and discipline, and improve student achievement for all. The Initiative is an inside-out approach that encourages school leaders and teachers to reflect on their own understandings and values about others – validating their current beliefs and feelings about people and encouraging change, without threatening their own self-worth. This enables a shift in the culture by tackling ethnic and social gaps and creating an environment shaped by diversity. The Equity Through Cultural Proficiency Initiative supports both the development of teachers as individuals and the improvement of schools/districts as a whole using theory, practice, and collaboration.  Office: 316-788-0108
