José Morillo’s journey toward small business ownership began with a search for reliable pet care for his beloved Chihuahua, Taco. Inspired by his own paw-sitive experiences, he opened his first Camp Bow Wow location in Katy, Texas, in 2015. Today, as a multi-unit owner, José attributes his success to the leadership skills he learned as a CEO at a hospital. His dedication and hard work were recognized when he was honored as a 2023 Franchisee of the Year at the International Franchise Association Annual Convention. As a proud small business owner, José is committed to mentoring his team, which includes his daughter-in-law, Jazmine, who serves as the Director of Operations and Marketing. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the team create a positive experience for our campers and their pet parents,” he shares. José values his entrepreneurial journey which has allowed him to spend quality time with family while building a lasting legacy and serving the community.
