About us
Around the world, technology is being applied in new, exciting ways to address challenges that communities face every day. Whether it’s new approaches to transportation, the efficiency of our built environment, or access to renewable energy, delivering new technology solutions takes a team of innovators, investment and social leadership. That’s why Prospect Silicon Valley is here. Born in San Jose, where we operate a Technology Demonstration Center, Prospect Silicon Valley is advancing the field of urbantech by developing a network to solve the significant challenges and pressures our cities face; helping the public sector, startups and corporations build and prove new solutions for the essential foundation of our cities — transportation & mobility, energy & buildings. Rapidly growing urban populations are challenging our quality of life and pressuring cities all over the world to rethink how they manage infrastructure and resources. However, cities and the systems that run them are slow to change. Identifying the best ways for cities, innovators and corporations to come together and apply rapidly advancing technology to solve major urban challenges requires new approaches and common ground.

🎉 We're thrilled to announce the launch of our California Energy Commission-funded project with Flow Environmental Systems, DMG North, and Berkeley Lab (LBNL)! We'll be demonstrating Flow’s ANSWR CO2 Heat Pump system, which provides simultaneous heating and cooling with a single power feed, at LBNL's FLEXLAB testing facility in Berkeley, CA. Another heat pump will also be installed at DMG North’s Training Center, where hands-on training and education workshops will be hosted. This innovative solution is expected to assist California in its goal to decarbonize large buildings. ➡️ For more details, read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/gY54Yf5z #Decarbonization #heatpumps #innovation #smartbuildings #hvac #energy #researchanddevelopment

One of 19 awards recently announced to establish or expand #BuildingPerformanceStandards across the US. The ways these standards are being developed across different jurisdictions are really complex, and far from consistent, but it's important foundational work to bring carbon emissions into focus across the industry. Early days, exciting days. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gXAhdMWS

We spend a lot of time thinking about the social and market innovations needed for technology solutions to bring the greatest impact. Equity, specifically equitable benefits of technology, is so vastly complicated and at times so completely absent from the hype-driven marketing of entrepreneurship. 👉 We commercialize impact, not disruption, and we're proud of it.
