About us

ProsperSpark was founded on the belief that small and medium-sized businesses should have access to the same tools and talent as big businesses. It’s about making an impact that helps spark a positive change in someone’s business. Over the years, we have seen many businesses utilize antiquated processes that cost them much time and money. We can change that. WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYBODY’S TIME IS VALUABLE. It’s that belief that propelled ProsperSpark into existence. With so many technology tools out in the marketplace, it’s easy to get lost. We’ll guide you! WE BELIEVE THAT SMALL BUSINESSES NEED ACCESS TO TOOLS AND TALENT. We pair small businesses with the right technology tools available. Every business is different, so we tailor solutions to each organization’s needs. WE BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULDN’T BE HARD. Implementing technology tools is often seen as complex. It doesn’t have to be. We believe in making it as seamless and easy as possible so you can return to doing what you do best; serving your clients!

How do you become great at answering hard strategic questions? Forget all of the fancy frameworks and just invest in three things: learning SQL, learning to talk to customers, and learning to write. The way to get to the data you want inside most tech companies is SQL. Sometimes people who have only spent time in fields like consulting think they can get by with spreadsheets because someone else will give them a nice neat dataset to work with, but they are wrong. Just get great at it getting to the data you want and finding signal in it. Talking to customers is an important counterbalance, because it can give you something data can’t: anecdotes. Until you’ve heard at least one customer talk about the dynamic you’re seeing in the data, you should be highly suspicious that that dynamic actually exists. You’ll often have to vacillate between data and customer feedback as you zero in on an answer. At BCG I was taught a principle for how to do this: “qual → quant → qual.” In other words, start with a few customer calls to make sure you’re smoking out all of the possible issues. Then use data to size and validate the things you’re hearing. Then return to customers at the end to make sure what you found in the data is real. The most important skill of all is writing. That is because it is the best proxy for the thing that really matters: synthesis. Synthesis is taking all of the data and anecdotes you've generated and using it to tell a story that is cohesive and true. Slides or bullet points are not as good at forcing synthesis, because you can list things that sound smart without actually figuring out if they’re important. Writing in prose forces structure and exposes gaps. The ultimate output should be something that lodges an understanding of the situation and the path forward in your reader’s brains in a few minutes. Not in thirty minutes, not after a follow up discussion. If you can make it understandable with just a few minutes of reading, your work can spread through your company and have much greater impact.

The differences between generations in the workplace have never been more apparent. Since the pandemic, we've seen workplace efficiencies evolve, particularly with the rise of remote work, forcing a re-evaluation of work/life balance and priorities. Younger employees are driven by personal development and meaningfulness, thriving when they feel heard and valued. They also bring a strong aptitude for technology. Meanwhile, older generations' structured, disciplined approach, paired with extensive industry knowledge, is invaluable in mentoring and guiding the next generation. Fostering collaboration between these two groups is the key to success. Younger employees benefit from the mentorship and insights of senior team members - a win-win for both sides. The synergy between experience and innovation paves the way for long-term success.

"Gen Z workers are expected to outnumber baby boomers in the U.S. workforce this year.” That’s from a piece in The Wall Street Journal by Katherine Bindley and Chip Cutter on how the influx of Gen Z is creating challenges for their older managers, who are putting initiatives into place, like mentorship programs, to engage younger employees more. As Christine Heckart, chief executive of the GenZ professional development app Xapa put it, “They want security and this chance to matter. When they’re not heard, when they don’t have an opportunity to grow, when they’re not appreciated, then they check out pretty quickly.” https://lnkd.in/dRQ54vgB How noticeable is the difference in working styles of older and younger generations at your organization? #GenZ #Employees #Managers #Growth #Working #Mattering
