Despite consumers’ concerns regarding the economy, Halloween candy, costumes, food, and decoration spending is expected to surpass last year’s all-time high of $12.2 billion. We want to give a special shout out to our customer, Floridian Water, for donating two truckloads of water shipped from our Versatile Packagers facility in Tampa to those affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. Kudos to all the friends and family of Floridian who helped make this happen, as well as StarMed Healthcare, Traci Nixon, Leigh Brown, Brian Patrick, Darragh Klemons and Steve Hunter with United Beverages of NC, LLC.

October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth. The goal of this month is to support those affected by breast cancer (patients, survivors and family members), to share information, and promote health screenings and early detection. The Wheelhouse family of co-packing companies (South Atlantic Packaging, Versatile Packagers and ProStar Packaging) is sharing information with team members throughout the organization to boost awareness and to provide access to local resources. For more information on how you and your loved ones can understand and minimize your risk, we encourage you to visit the CDC Breast Cancer Information Center. https://lnkd.in/eb2vFvUS

The increase in store brand and private label popularity means that brand names are losing shelf space. This means that brands need to get creative about how they display their products in stores so that they get noticed. Our customers have been turning to us for “out-of-the-box” solutions like floor and pallet displays to get visibility. Reach out to us at pat@prostarpackaging.com to learn how we can help your product get noticed by consumers. https://lnkd.in/eqyYSpDC #copacking #contractpackaging #manufacturing #supplychainmanagement #packagingsolutions #foodandbeverageindustry #supplychain #petfoodindustry #foodsafety #SQF #foodandbeverage #foodandbeveragemanufacturing #packagingsolutions #packaging #innovation #strategicpartner #compliance #agility #kitting #fulfillment

Our team in Winston-Salem has been collecting supplies for our neighbors in Western North Carolina. Last week, these boxes headed to West Yancey Fire Dept in Burnsville, NC, to be distributed to those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Ryan Skrack organized all donations into ready-to-deliver boxes that can easily be managed by the local teams. He also led a group out to purchase additional supplies on behalf of South Atlantic Packaging Corporation. Kudos and thank you to our incredible team for their generosity.

Over the weekend, our Tampa Versatile Packagers facility roared back to operation. In spite of dealing with post-hurricane issues at their own homes, our team members came in and got the job done, packing 20,000+ Sawyer Products water filtration kits for the American Red Cross. It’s not the first time we have done this important work for Sawyer in the United States and abroad. To learn more about Sawyer, see these links on their website https://lnkd.in/eqXT9JWe and https://lnkd.in/eg4uN3AQ During this brutal hurricane season, we continue to think about our neighbors, team members and customers dealing with storm damage in North Carolina and Florida and are proud to be a part of helping our customer, Sawyer Products, in this important part of the recovery work. #hurricanerelief #sawyerproducts #contractpackaging #copacking

ProStar Contract Packaging reposted this
Thanks for all the prayers and concerns regarding our team in Tampa, Florida. Post-Milton most of our team members still do not have power in their homes, but we are very glad to share that none of them suffered from significant misfortunes. In fact, we had a group of 45 individuals who made it into the facility today, so we were immediately able to get up and running with several customer projects. Our facility never lost power, and we were able to monitor cameras during the storm. We shut down operations Monday as a precautionary measure. And while we are not quite back to “normal,” our Tampa team will be working over the weekend to ensure that we stay on-time with all customer projects. We are grateful our team members are safe, and we thank them for their dedication and support.
