Amazing news! We are honored that the Tidehawks NJROTC has been selected to represent the State of Washington at the 2025 National Independence Day and Memorial Day Parades in Washington, D.C.! 🎖️ This prestigious invitation, based on a recommendation from CDR. Vincent Quidachay, is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our cadets, their instructors, and the entire Gig Harbor community. As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation's armed forces in 2025, our cadets will have the incredible honor of marching down Constitution Avenue, representing both our district and state on a national stage. It’s an opportunity to showcase the values of leadership, discipline, and patriotism that our NJROTC program instills. This journey will involve planning, fundraising, and extensive training, but it’s a challenge we are excited to embrace. We look forward to sharing more updates as we prepare for this memorable experience. #TidehawksNJROTC #MemorialDay2025 #LeadershipInAction #InspiredAndEmpoweredPSD #EveryChildEveryDay

Facing Fentanyl Town Hall: A Call to Action for Our Community The fentanyl crisis is a growing concern for families, schools, and communities. In response, the Peninsula School District Opioid Task Force has partnered with local fire and police departments, alongside treatment providers such as Crossroads, to organize the Facing Fentanyl Town Hall. This event will serve as a platform for addressing the dangers of fentanyl and equipping the community with tools to confront this public health emergency. We want to express gratitude for the tireless efforts of Pierce County Councilmember Robyn Denson, whose work with the task force has been instrumental in bringing key stakeholders together. Her dedication to this issue reflects the importance of collaboration in tackling complex challenges like the fentanyl epidemic. The event will feature: • Expert panel discussions with members of the PSD Opioid Task Force, first responders, and treatment specialists. • Breakout sessions focusing on community safety, educating youth, and response strategies. • Distribution of FREE Naloxone (Narcan) kits to the first 100 attendees, along with life-saving training. Event Details: • Gig Harbor Civic Center: October 7, 2024 | 5:30-7:00 PM • Key Peninsula Civic Center: October 21, 2024 | 5:30-7:00 PM We invite leaders, educators, and community stakeholders to join us in this critical conversation. Together, we can drive meaningful change and help protect those most vulnerable to the dangers of fentanyl. #EveryChildEveryDay #FacingFentanyl #PublicHealth #CommunityLeadership #PeninsulaSchoolDistrict

At the Peninsula School District, we believe that the success of our students starts with empowering our educators and staff. Yesterday, we held our annual Welcome Back event, and it was a reminder of our commitment to professional growth and creating a positive work culture. The day kicked off with a series of professional development sessions, each designed to inspire and equip our staff with the tools and strategies needed to thrive in the 2024-2025 school year. From innovative teaching techniques to wellness strategies, our focus is on fostering a culture where every staff member feels supported, valued, and prepared to make a difference. Our "Partners in Learning" vendor fair, organized in collaboration with the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce, provided a unique opportunity for our staff to connect with local businesses and community partners. This partnership not only strengthens our ties with the community but also ensures our staff have access to resources that support their professional journey. We were honored to have Lyndsay Morris, M.Ed. from Generation Wellness as our special speaker. Her presentation on wellness and resilience was not only inspiring but also perfectly aligned with our district's commitment to the wellbeing of our staff. As we move into the new school year, we are more dedicated than ever to creating a positive and supportive environment for our staff—a place where they can continue to "Go for Gold" in their careers while making a lasting impact on the lives of our students. Here's to a year of growth, collaboration, and excellence! #InspiredAndEmpoweredPSD #EmployeeWellness #WorkCulture #BackToSchool
