🚨 DSA Update: Important Revisions to IR 30-1 on Elevators 🚨 The Division of the State Architect (DSA) has released an update to Interpretation of Regulations (IR) 30-1: Elevators: Building Materials and Systems. This update ensures continued compliance with the California Building Code and introduces several key changes: Fire sprinklers are no longer required in the hoist way pit. The Elevator/Stairway Configuration section has been removed. Criteria for emergency medical service elevators have been added. Last month, I had the rare opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and spend time with my family on a much-needed vacation. 🏖️ As any CEO knows, stepping away can be a challenge – the emails, projects, and demands never stop. 📧 It was a bit of an adjustment being out of my routine and without reliable WiFi, but it was also a chance to reflect on the importance of truly disconnecting.
