  • This week, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy addressed the profound stress and mental health challenges faced by parents and caregivers in a compelling guest essay for The New York Times: https://lnkd.in/gHQ33PB8. In his essay, Dr. Murthy highlighted the mounting pressures on parents, particularly those who are working professionals, as they juggle the demands of their careers with the complexities of raising children in today's world. The parents we work with would resoundingly agree, as many feel more isolated and fractured than ever. In our practice, we’ve often heard some version of the following: 🎙️“Everyone else makes being a working parent seem so effortless; I have a great partner, I’m good at my job, why is this so hard for me?” 🎙️“I’m thinking about work when I’m with my kid and thinking about my kid when I’m at work. How do I focus like I used to?” 🎙️“Work was how I found value in myself but I’m not working at the same level after becoming a parent. How can I still feel good about myself?” At Psyflex, we understand the unique pressures faced by working parents, and we are dedicated to supporting the entire family in navigating these challenges. We help you reclaim alignment with yourself as your needs and priorities shift when your family grows. Together, we can develop strategies to help you regain your balance, find fulfillment in both your career and your role as a parent, and, most importantly, support your mental well-being. You don’t have to do this alone—we’re here to help. #MentalHealthMatters #Parents #Caregivers #WorkingParents
