The purpose of the Connection Session will be to provide updates regarding PBC’s Program and upcoming opportunities, provide insight on conducting business with PBC, encourage networking with the Prequalified General Contractors and Pre-Approved JOC Firms, and MBE/WBE subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and PBC’s Assist Agencies.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Public Building Commission of Chicago for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal of 2023.

The Public Building Commission, with support from its partners, the Chicago Department of Transportation, Chicago Park District, and The US Army Corps of Engineers, will host a Pre-Submission Conference (“Conference”) for a Project-Specific Prequalification of General Contractors for the Morgan Shoal Revetment Reconstruction Project. The intent of the Conference will be to discuss the Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) issued on February 18, 2025, respond to inquiries regarding the RFQ and promote networking opportunities within the construction community.

The Public Building Commission of Chicago’s (PBC) Board of Commissioners approved thirty (30) firms to provide Job Order Contracting (JOC) services at its January 14, 2025, Board Meeting. The action expanded the pre-approved firms available for the PBC’s JOC Program and established a value-based three tier approach that promotes and encourages firms of all sizes to participate, particularly Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) firms.
