In our latest customer experience (CX) analysis, we explore the internal factors within employee experience that contribute to a positive customer experience. Building on past research, we aimed to identify measurable elements of agency work environments that correlate with a positive internal customer experience for federal employees—ultimately enhancing the experience for the public. Through our examination of employee experience and human capital data, we identified four key factors linked to an internal employee customer experience: • Employee engagement • Effective leadership • Employee input • Internal communication Knowing these factors, we developed a new way for federal leaders to assess and enhance the performance of their organizations in CX – the Employee Customer Experience Factors. This innovative measure shines a light on organizations that excel in fostering constructive environments for mission delivery, ultimately enhancing the experiences of the public we serve. Our analysis enhances transparency in government performance, promotes accountability and provides federal leaders with a valuable tool to improve their organizations and achieve better outcomes for the public. This work aligns with our vision for a better government and supports our ongoing advocacy for systemic reforms aimed at driving change in government and providing efficient, customer-friendly services. By introducing and eventually expanding the Employee Customer Experience Factors, the Partnership for Public Service aims to support federal leaders in creating environments that foster delivery on their critical missions and service to the public.
