Last year CTE Works! served just over 1,700 students in 8th-12th grades from across our five county service area. Those 1,700 students were introduced to nearly 100 business partners, non-profit organizations, and educational pathway providers that allowed them to explore classroom-to-career opportunities right here in their own backyard! Did You Know: The American Heart Association’s Empowered to Serve Business Accelerator provides essential training, funding and recognition for innovators addressing pressing health equity challenges. The Accelerator has helped over 150 businesses and granted over $1 million to founders who have gone on to make a substantial health impact in their local and national communities. It’s been an honor to be an advisor to the 11 founders who are preparing to compete for up to $75,000 in grants.

Every year we walk in memory of my beloved son, Cameron, to honor his memory and support the incredible work hospice does in our community. Hospice provides compassionate care and support to those facing terminal illness and so much more. I recently attended the Elevate Albany State of the Region Summit and left feeling truly inspired. The discussions on how to invest $1 billion in our capital region sparked innovative ideas and a shared vision for growth. Everyone was committed to seeing our area evolve into the thriving metropolis it deserves to be, where every individual thrives. The big take away for me, expanding our perspective beyond a 10-mile radius to a more inclusive regional perspective. This year, through collaboration, education, and advocacy, I will be a catalyst for change, ensuring my presence in the rooms where decisions are made to assist with driving positive transformations.
